Free Home Energy Survey – A Customer Story

Free Home Energy Survey – A Customer Story

The HEAT Project attended all the community markets in Blairgowrie this year. At one of the markets during the summer David Phillips approached the HEAT stand to talk to us.

At first, he wasn’t sure what the project was about, but this changed quickly. While talking to us he soon realised that we could help him reduce his bills and understand the controls on his heating system which he thought were a bit clunky.

Martin Mathers and Rachel Comrie arranged an initial home visit and made recommendations that might help reduce his energy usage. Rachel then followed up with a second visit to spend more time with David. They both went over his bills and changed the settings of his heating controls for optimal use.

Here is what David has to say about the HEAT Project:

“I write to thank you for your help in saving money on my electricity bill, especially with heating, which also helps in saving the planet. I was especially impressed by the way that Martin Mathers and Rachel Comrie explained the technicalities of how electricity usage could be saved, and they increased my awareness without deepening my guilt at previous waste!

The follow-up visit by Rachel is also greatly appreciated. She was very patient in explaining the intricacies of my electricity bill which I could never previously understand either through ignorance or stupidity. I would commend their services to anyone wishing to reduce their electricity usage to save their own money and our planet.” – David Phillips, Rattray
