Find grant or support funds to make your home more energy efficient, reduce your energy bills and make your home warmer
Home Energy Scotland grants and 0% loans
Potentially available for any homeowner in Scotland. 75% grant for energy efficiency measures, a straight £7,500 (or £9,000 in ‘remote rural’ areas) for renewable heating (heat pumps, pellet biomass boilers). The 0% loan is also available for potentially much of any remaining costs if of interest too. No grant or loan funding available for solar PV or battery storage anymore.
The first step with them is to contact them on 0808 808 2282. Don’t bother emailing as they will take months to reply, but rather call to go through 30-45mins of eligibility questions (they suggest having a cup of tea at the ready).
ECO4 and Great British Insulation Scheme
Eligible for ECO4 or Great British Insulation Scheme funding as you can receive all the work for free and hands-off with not needing to get quotes from installers or deal with grant paperwork. It’s not only just means-tested or for those with disabilities, but you could potentially qualify with just Council tax A-E, EPC D or below, and off-gas gird. Its best for households to speak to a contractor to ask about eligibility as it is so complicated. [or us first to see if we think the house/holder is suitable, especially ECO4 anyway.
