Your Energy, Your Money
Are your energy bills regularly high and you can’t figure out where all this usage is coming from? Do you have questions around Smart Meters or Renewable Technology and don’t know where to start? As well as the many Home Energy Surveys (and Festive activities!) these past two months I have developed a variety of creative and fun workshops focused on different aspects of Home Energy. These workshops will be delivered to small groups and include a few interactive activities that get us thinking about our energy usage.
Each workshop is aimed to save you money on your energy bills, with a little extra knowledge you could save £100’s! In addition, it is another way for me to engage with communities in Blairgowrie, Rattray and the Glens in a relaxed and friendly environment.
One of these workshops will be called ‘Your Energy, Your Money’, my first one held as part of the Money Talks series in Community Connect and will focus on ways to save money on gas and electricity around the home, understanding options around billing and energy debt, prepayment meters, tariffs and providers including switching.
Another workshop I hope people will enjoy is more a hands-on workshop, where we will show you how to make draught excluders and great radiator heat reflectors with recycled materials. My aim is to address any concerns regarding your energy usage, heating or damp issues, and we will do this whilst our hands are busy. It will be an informal chat, rather than a strict learning exercise! No sewing skills are necessary to take part.
All our events are free, and my mission is for everyone that attends to leave feeling confident about reducing their energy usage, feel more comfortable about heating their home and better understanding their energy bills. Everyone is welcome! If there’s anything else you would like to see us do, please let us know.
